Wordle is a simple browser game in which the player has to guess a hidden word in six attempts. In January 2022, she literally took over the whole world (well, at least the entire Twitter).

Puzzle for a beloved girl
Inspired by these letter games, Wardle began inventing his own puzzle. His slightly changed surname just became the name of the game (that is, Wardle turned into Wordle).
According to The New York Times, at the first stage, Wardle selected from the dictionary all the words of the English language, consisting of five letters. There were about 12 thousand of them. He gave this list to his girlfriend, and she noted which of these words she knew and which she did not. As a result, the number of concepts used in the game was reduced to 2500 – but this should still be enough for a couple of years. Palak Shah really liked the game and she insisted that her boyfriend open access to the game to other users. So she appeared in the browser for everyone.
And if in November 2021 only 90 people a day played Wordle, then at the beginning of January 2022 there were already about 300 thousand of them, and now there are already about two million.
Recently, famous host Jimmy Fallon admitted to his addiction to the game. And the results of the game are turned into embroidery and paintings.
However, the overwhelming popularity brought Wardle himself rather anxiety: “When the game went viral, I got worried. I feel my responsibility to the players. I feel that I owe them a lot and that I must do everything possible to ensure that the site works well in the future, ”he said in a comment to The Guardian. The developer also added that he receives a lot of warm letters from players from different countries and that for some of them, playing Wordle together helps to keep in touch with relatives and friends during the pandemic.
So how do you play?

Six attempts are given to guess the hidden word. To start, you need to write in the first line any existing five-letter word (yes, the algorithm will correct you if you type not recorded in the dictionary).
After that, the letters of the word you typed will turn into different colors. If the letter turned gray, it means that it is not in the hidden word. If the letter turned yellow, then this means that it is in the hidden word, but it stands in a different place in it. But if the letter turns green, it means that it is in the same position in the hidden word.
