Optimal Health Care at Emory University

What is Optimal Health Care? It is an entire lifestyle approach to the health of an individual that encompasses the physical, social, spiritual, and intellectual aspects of well-being. Optimal Health Care is a member of the Emory Healthcare Network. This group of physicians, both Emory-employed and in private practice, work together toward common goals and quality measures. This creates accountability and ensures a high standard of care.

Optimal health care is a lifestyle

Optimal health care is different from sick care. Optimal health requires a lifestyle change, not a quick fix to a specific problem. With the help of your health care provider, you can understand what works best for your body and mind, and then take daily steps to maintain your health. The key is to understand what optimal health looks like and what it means to you. It is an achievable, but not an instantaneous, goal.

It includes physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual aspects

Optimal health care is the balance of all eight facets of health. This includes physical, social, spiritual, and intellectual aspects, as well as the pursuit of one’s own personal aspirations. Optimal health is not a destination but a process of maintaining a well-balanced lifestyle. By following the principles of optimal health care, one can make positive changes in his or her life.

It is a medical center

Drs. Kristen and Abraham Hollist founded Optimal Health Medical Center after they sought medical care for their eldest son who was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), an inherited blood disorder that has taken the lives of many. While traditional medical care provided good results, it was lacking in preventative measures. The two physicians decided to find a better option. They founded Optimal Health Medical Center in March 2013.

It offers functional medicine

Functional medicine is a new approach to health care that focuses on the whole person rather than the presenting symptoms. A Functional Medicine practitioner will understand the body’s strengths and weaknesses and use a holistic approach to healing. Functional medicine practitioners will educate you about the various ways you can make healthy lifestyle changes and prevent disease. By addressing the underlying causes, Functional Medicine practitioners can help you create a health strategy for life.

It offers hospice care

The right timing for hospice care is critical. Hospice care at the right time can provide more time for the patient and his or her family to say their final goodbyes, make final arrangements, and focus on the quality of life. It can also relieve caregivers and family members of the stress associated with caring for an aging loved one. Optimal Health Care staff members will assess a patient’s needs and develop a personalized plan of care that takes into account any special needs that the patient may have at home.
